ELECTORS URGED TO CHECK THEIR PARTICULARS IN ELECTORAL ROLLS

          The office of the Chief Electoral Officer has informed to the general public and political parties, Goa State that the Draft Electoral Rolls in respect of all the Parliamentary and Assembly Constituencies in the State of Goa relating to the special summary revision of photo electoral rolls with reference to January 01, 2021 as the qualifying date will be published as per the programme approved by the Election Commission of India, New Delhi.

 

          The schedule for various stages of special summary revision of photo electoral rolls -2021 are as follows.

 

          The publication of Integrated draft electoral roll will be held on November 16, 2020. Period for filing claims and objection is November 16, 2020 to December 15, 2020. Special campaign dates are November 28, 2020 and December 05, 2020 and November 29, 2020 and December 06, 2020. The disposal of claims and objections by January 05, 2021. Checking of health parameters and obtaining Commission’s permission for final publication and updating database and printing of supplements will be on January 14, 2021 and final electoral roll will be published on January 15, 2021.

 

          It is informed that, the Electoral Rolls will be available for scrutiny by the members of the public from November 16, 2020 till December 15, 2020 at the respective Polling Stations where last election for Parliamentary Constituencies and Assembly Constituencies were held. The electoral rolls are also available  for scrutiny in the Office of the  concerned Deputy Collectors and Electoral Registration Officers of Pernem, Bicholim, Bardez, Tiswadi, Ponda, Salcete,Mormugao, Sattari, Sanguem, Quepem, Dharbandora and Canacona and also in the Office of all the Mamlatdars/Joint Mamlatdars/Assistant Electoral Registration Officers in the State of Goa.

 

          All Indian citizens who are entitled to be included in the Electoral Rolls are requested to scrutinize the Draft Electoral Rolls and in case their names do not figure in the said Draft Electoral Rolls and those who may have attained the age of 18 years of age as on January 01, 2021 as qualifying date are requested to get their names included in the Electoral Rolls in accordance with procedure.

 

As required under Rules 13 and 14 of the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960, all claims and objections for inclusion of names or objections to the particulars in entries in the Electoral Rolls should be made in Forms 6, 6A,7,8 and 8A, as the case may be and should either be presented to the concerned Electoral Registration Officers, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers or to such other officials as may be designated in this behalf, by due date.

 

The Electoral Registration Officers have also appointed Booth Level Officers at the respective Polling Stations. The above claims and objections in prescribed forms 6, 6A, 7, 8 and 8A, as the case, may be duly completed can be filed from November 16, 2020 (Monday) till December 15, 2020 (Tuesday) in the above mentioned offices of EROs and AEROs and to the  Booth Level Officers appointed for the purpose.

 

Online e-services are offered to National Voters Service Portal (NVSP) at www.nvsp.in on the website of the Election Commission of India at www.eci.nic.in where eligible user can apply on-line for registration as elector (Form6)/correction (Form8) /deletion (Form 7)/transposition (Form 8A), registration  of overseas elections (Forms 6A). The services also give facility  of uploading scanned copies of documents and photograph. Also, user can track status of application already submitted online and download/print the form from the Portal for offline submission of the Form.

 

 The list of claims and objections is available on the website of the Chief Electoral Officers Goa at www.ceogoa.nic.in and objection can be raised before the EROs.

 

          All claims and objections received upto December 15, 2020 will be duly considered and disposed off by the concerned Electoral Registration Officers in accordance with the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960.

 

The public in general and the Political parties in particular are therefore requested to scrutinize the said Draft Electoral Rolls and to take steps to get names included or corrected  for which the  time limit is upto December 15, 2020 (Tuesday), as informed by Department of Information & Publicity
