         Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister, Shri Manohar Ajgaonkar inaugurated the renovated office premises of Excise Station today at the function held at Office of the Excise Inspector Excise Station Pernem, yesterday.



 The project was undertaken by Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC).


Dr. Sawant speaking on the occasion expressed his happiness and congratulated all the staff of Excise Station while handing over the newly renovated independent building. 


The Government is taking various initiatives for the development of the people and Goa. Various major projects are coming in Pernem and no doubt top priority will be given to Pernem people for employment, he said.


          The Chief Minister highlighting the upcoming projects said Government efforts is making all out to provide independent Office premises to various Government departments functioning in rented premises to put an end to wasteful expenditure by way of rent. 



Informing about the Government initiative on Atmanirbhar Bharat Swayampurna Goa concept,   he said that an official will be deputed in each Panchayat and Municipality to effectively carry out the work including Central as well as State Government schemes to ensure that the benefits reach every individual at every corner of the State.


Dr. Sawant guided the people   about the COVID-19 pandemic and urged the people to take utmost care of themselves, family and society. 


Shri Ajgaonkar while addressing the gathering said today after many years, the long pending dream of Pernem people is being fulfilled.  The independent building premises for Excise Station is ready for its operation. He further said Government is not lacking behind anywhere for the development of the Taluka and highlighted some of the completed and upcoming projects. Pernem people will get a whole lot of job opportunities and first preference will be given to Pernem people only he said and sought the co-operation of the people for the development of the State. 


Shri Sopte while speaking on the occasion said justice is being given for the staff of the Excise Station since it was their long pending demand to have an office with necessary facilities.  He further said this is a heritage building renovated in the best way.


Bringing to the notice of the Chief Minister that some Offices are functioning on rent requested to provide them with independent premises and stressed the need  for  completion of Pernem Tuem Hospital work on top priority. Expressing concern on the youths taking to alcohol he urged the Excise department to see that the Bars get closed on stipulated time at night.


Shri Sopte congratulated the Excise Station Staff and urged them to take care of the building maintenance. 


Shri Dayanand Sopte, Chairman of GTDC; Smt. Shweta Kambli, Chairperson, Pernem Municipal Council, Shri Shashank Mani Tripathi, IAS, Commissioner of Excise and Shri Hemant Kumar, IAS, Commissioner of Sales Tax were also present on the occasion.



Shri Tripathi welcomed the gathering while Shri Prashant Shirodkar, Additional Commissioner proposed the vote of thanks. Smt. Shilpa Gawas and Shri Nilesh Naik compered the function, as informed by the Department of Information and Publicity.
