COLLECTIVE EFFORTS  NEEDED TO MAKE GOA SELF RELIANT-CM

The Directorate of Planning and Statistic & Evaluation is conducting three days  training programme, which commenced yesterday, for the HODs and Secretaries to the Government at Secretariat Porvorim. Today is the second day of the training where in 19 various departments participated.

During the half day training various resource persons enlightened the participants about the objective and vision of the Government through Power Point presentations. Smt Seema Fernandes, GIPARD, gave power point presentation on Swayampurna Goa, Dr. Smita Srivastava SRP, GIPARD on Sustainable Development Goals. On Atmanirbhar Bharat by Shri Dattaprasad Shetkar, on Accounting System/Finance Management by Shri Pranab Bhat, Smt. Manorama & Shri Ashwani Mohapatra. Shri J. Ashok Kumar Secretary to Chief Minister guided on the Vision Document.

The Chief Minister in his concluding remarks underlined the need for collective efforts by all the stakeholders to make Goa Swayampurna needed to have. The making of Goa swayampurn should be the objective of all concerned Departments. Pointing that Goa presently is relying on neighboring states in terms of vegetable, milk, fodder, chicken, eggs and other food items called upon the participants to think what can be done in this area.

The Chief Minister suggested proper inter-departmental coordination with an aim to approach the common people at grass root level and enlighten them about various welfare schemes implemented by the Government for their welfare. The motive of the Government is to empower the common men, elevate his standard of living which can be fulfilled by  providing    necessary services to make his living happy.

The Chief Minister urged every Department to implement the policy and programme to make the vision of the Government successful. He appealed all the departments to work out their vision document at an early date and urged all concerned to be proactive and well informed about Government policies. Keep yourself updated and change your attitude to help the common man in the State, he added.

The Chief Minister insisted on preparing their vision document and strictly adhere to accomplish the objective. He named the Departments like Animal Husbandry and Rural Development for working on the same for priority.

The Chief Secretary Shri Parimal Rai IAS in his introductory remark said that mere having vision or schemes on paper is not enough. Proper action is required to reach the benefits of various schemes to the needy people. He advised the Planning Department to guide the participants about their role and suggested to avail central Government schemes fund lessen burden of expenditure of the Government. This session will help the participant to enlighten about the objective of the Government and work to accomplish the same he expressed.

Secretary Finance, Shri Punitkumar Goel IAS, Chief Electoral Officer, Shri Kunal IAS, HODs of Various Government Department, Secretaries to the Government attended the training.
