No person should miss out on acquiring knowledge, education and experience at any stage of life for knowledge acquired never goes waste but works for the betterment of life said Deputy Chief Minister, Shri Chandrakant (Babu) Kavlekar.


Shri Kavlekar was speaking at the valedictory function of Electrician and Desktop Publishing courses at Don Bosco Vocational Training Institute, Quepem. The courses are sponsored by Home Department (NRI Cell) Overseas Employment Agency of Goa under Foreign Orientation Course and Skill Upgradation programme.


Speaking further Shri Kavlekar said Government has always extended its support to every unemployed citizen. One should only come forward to take benefits of the various Government schemes, subsidies and facilities. There is need of skilled professionals to meet day today needs of the society - may it be electrician, plumber, motor mechanic etc. said Shri Kavlekar and urged the youths to take benefit of such type of courses by Government authorities free of cost.


Commissioner, NRI Affairs and Chairman, Overseas Employment Agency of Goa, Shri Narendra Sawaikar said, skill development is very important and keeping the objective in mind his Agency is working in that direction. One should stand on their own feet and be financial self sufficient Shri Sawaikar said. He thanked Don Bosco Institute for taking responsibility and gave their full cooperation to conduct the courses successfully.


Director, Don Bosco, Fr Micheal D'costa in his welcome address said that his institute is always on forefront of skill training and thanked Government for their supportin. Students shared their experiences and Certificates were distributed to the students. Councillor, Quepem Municipal Council, Shri Paulo Fernandes was also present on the occasion.
