Collectorate South Goa has strongly condemned the news published in sections of Social Media platforms titled ``Shocking! South Goa Collector Ajit Roy shut admissions for healthcare workers at Margao Residency`` published on October 7, 2020. South Goa Collector in its rebuttal to the said news has stated that reporting made in the news is misleading and far away from the facts.

It is further stated that, Margao Residency has never been used by health workers as quarantine centre. Instead Government has requisitioned more than 200 rooms for healthcare workers in a number of hotels as quarantine centres for them and these facilities are in operation for than four months for now, clarified Collectorate South Goa.

It may be informed that rooms in hotels made available for Healthcare workers were utilised immediately after issuing guidelines for Health Care Workers. Government has ensured proper mechanism and arrangements of various facilities for Health care workers during ongoing pandemic.

Office of the Collector, South Goa is strictly adhering to the instructions and guidelines  issued by Home Ministry, Government of India on Healthcare workers.

Hence the Collector, South Goa  has said that, facts were not properly verified while reporting the news thus denied the allegations made in the news report.

Beside North Goa Collectorate has been working tirelessly to provide all the facilities and services to the people involved in combating COVID-19 pandemic. It is informed that, Panjim Residency has been allocated as quarantine centre for Government officials those who test positive for
COVID while discharging their duties.

North Goa Collectorate has also made ample arrangement  for the accommodation of Health care Workers in various facilities of North Goa District.
