Asserting that the success or failure of any organization depends upon the hard work and commitment of   its stakeholders Chief Minister, Dr Pramod Sawant said that GHRDC  was founded by the Government with the objective to provide skilled and trained  manpower which has proved successful. 



Dr Sawant speaking at a function organized by  Goa Human Resources Development Corporation (GHRDC) to celebrate  its foundation Day and to felicitate COVID Warriors at Porvorim today maintained that  GHRDC  has been providing trained and skilled security,  housekeeping  staff  to various Government establishments   all over the State. Due their proper management, it  is now heading towards becoming  self reliant, he added.


      The Chief Minister   informed that The Government intends to extend  the scope of GHRDC by recruiting  more  youths after  one year. He said those who are employed  for having less education or who have degree education can strive for better prospects. Those who are with lower education can also endeavour to upgrade their education and can opt for better opportunity  in the administration. He appreciated the workers who responded to work on the frontline during the COVID  pandemic despite risk to their lives.


Jt.Managing Director, GHRDC,   Shri Narayan Navti in his address highlighted some examples  of spontaneity shown by  the housekeeping and Security staff while discharging their duties during COVID pandemic. To mention a few names like Smt. Utkarsha Umesh Gawade  resident of Khandepar  who was  assigned duty at  indoor  stadium,  Margao  performed duty  while her villagers banned her entry  into her village. So she went to  her mothers house at Borim from where she attended  her duty. Another example  was of Smt. Nazima  Bi who was injured  but  accepted  spontaneously to perform duty at ESI Hospital, Margao. While  Smt.Roopa Reddy another worker endeavoured to  make awareness and  encourage  COVID  patients while  performing her duty. He appreciated all those who have endeavoured  to discharge their  duties in the required situation.


Managing Director GHRDC,  Shri Derrik Neto  also spoke on the ocassion.


Among  44 COVID Warriors 10 security  Officers , 32 Housekeeping  staff, 2 LDC Office staff   were felicitated  at the hands of Chief Minister and other dignitaries. 


Vice- Chairman GHRDC, Shri   Keshav  Prabhu; Former Information  Officer, Shri  John Aguiar;  Director SCERT, Shri  Nagraj  Honnekeri; Sr.Security Officer, Shri Vijay  Gawas were among  those who  attended the function.

Security Officer, Shri Siddhesh Bordekar compered the function.
