        Minister for Art and Culture, Shri Govind Gaude presented “Yuva Pratibha Puraskar 2019-20” a prestigious Puraskar of West Zone Cultural Centre, Udaipur at the function held on August 12, 2020 at Sanskruti Bhavan Patto, Panaji.  


This year “Yuva Pratibha Puraskar 2019-20”were presented to four young artists i.e. Kum. Rajeshwari Ramdas Sawant, Mapusa- Folk Dance; Kum. Rashmita Rajendra Satodkar, Mulgao, Bicholim- Folk Singing; Shri Prashant Vasant Gaude, Curti Ponda- Folk Theatre and Shri Shambhu Devanand Naik Mule, Adpai, Durbhat, Ponda- Folk Instrumental Music. The award consists of a certificate and cash purse of Rs. 10,000/- (Rupees ten thousand only) each.


All the norms and guidelines issued by the state Government to take precaution during the pandemic of COVID-19 were followed on this occasion.


        Goa is known for its cultural traditions in the Art & Culture. Also the hidden talents are abundant among the youths. To give platform to these talents and also to preserve our age old tradition of folk art, the Directorate of Art & Culture in joint collaboration with West Zone Cultural Centre, Udaipur presents “Yuva Pratibha Puraskar” to the youths in the age group of 18 to 30 years from the field of Traditional Goan Folk Instrumental Music, Folk Dance, Folk Singing and Folk theatre.


Shri Sagun R. Velip, Director, Directorate of Art and Culture , Shri Carlos Fernandes, Curator, Goa State Central Library and Shri Ashok Parab, Deputy Director, Directorate of Art and Culture were also present on the occasion.
