WEEKLY REVIEW OF ESSENTIAL COMMODITIES

 The Office Registrar of Co-operatative Societies has intimated the prices of important essential commodities in Panaji, for the week ending August 11, 2020.

In wholesale, the prices of  moongdal, moong and green peas decreased by Rs.200/- to Rs.500/-, Rs.400/- to Rs.500/-and Rs.1000/ to  Rs.1500/- per quintal respectively. Wheat Khandva, gram Kabuli big, rawa, potatoes, chillies green increased by Rs.100/-, Rs.200/-, Rs.50/- to Rs.200/-, Rs.100/-, Rs.1000/- per quintal respectively and eggs large by Rs.20/- to Rs.30/- per 100 nos. during the week.

The prices of other important essential commodities like parboiled rice outside, raw rice common, wheat Shivri, jowar Shalu, turdal Barshi, Gramdal, sugar S-30, gur fine, sunflower oil, vegetable ghee “Ruchi” maida, onions and tomatoes have remained steady during the week.

In retail, the prices of banana (vassai) decreased by Rs.10/- per dozen. Wheat Khandva, Wheat Shivri, chillies green increased by Re.1/-, Rs.2/-, Rs.10/- per kilo respectively and eggs large by Rs.3/- to Rs.4/- per dozen during the week.

 The prices of others important essential commodities like parboiled rice local, parboiled rice outside, raw rice common, jowar Shalu, turdal Barshi, moongdal, gramdal, moong, gram Kabuli big, sugar S-30, gur fine, sunflower oil, vegetable ghee “Dalda”, rawa, maida, green peas, potatoes, onions and tomatoes remained steady during the week.

The increase/decrease in wholesale and increased in retail prices were due to increase and decrease in wholesale price in supplying markets. 

The supply position of important essential commodities were normal during the week, except that of parboiled rice local, coconut oil and Banana (Vassai) the arrival of which was not noticed during the week.
