NOMINATIONS INVITED FOR PADMA AWARDS

The Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs invites recommendations/ nominations of deserving suitable persons for the coveted  Padma Awards. Qualities and traits, in any field,  earlier Award received at least 5 years before and exceptional lifetime achievements where  existence of an element of public service is seen, are some of the guidelines in nominating  someone  for the Award.

          The Padma Awards namely, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and  Padma Shri, are amongst the highest civilian awards of the country. Instituted in 1954, they are announced on the occasion of the Republic Day every year. The award seeks to recognize ‘work of distinction’ and is  given for distinguished and exceptional achievements/service in all fields/ disciplines, such as Art, Literature and Education, Sports, Medicine,  Social Work, Science and Engineering, Public Affairs, Civil Service, Trade and  Industry etc. All persons without distinction of race, occupation, position or sex are eligible for these Awards.           Details may be viewed on website www.dsya.goa.gov.in. The online nominations/recommendations will be accepted only in PDF format and should reach the via email ID, dir-spor.goa@nic.in of Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, Campal, Panaji-Goa on or before September 04, 2020.
