 Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant today said that in order to tackle Covid-19 crises especially in the Containment Zone at Mangor Hill, antibody test will be carried out commencing from Mangor Hill in Mormugao Taluka.

        The Chief Minister who chaired a High level meeting held at Secretariat Porvorim convened to discuss and decide further plan of action as regards to Containment Zone at Mangor Hill Vasco said antibody test if conducted will help detect those infected with Corona Virus infection and further mentioned that it will be the test for antibody in the blood and it is immune for life time.

        The meeting was also attended by Minister for Panchayati Raj Shri Mauvin Godinho, MLA’s Shri J. L. Carlos Almeida and Smt. Alina Saldanha, Chief Secretary Shri Parimal Rai, IAS, Secretary Health Smt. Nila Mohanan, DGP, Mukesh Kumar Meena, Collector South Shri Ajit Roy, IAS, Councillors of Mormugao Municipal Council and other senior officers of various Government Departments.


        The Chief Minister informed that sensitization drive has been carried out at Mangor Hill, Vasco twice and that cleanliness of the area has been taken up. He said, the Collector South, IGP, Health Secretary and others also visited Mangor Hill, Vasco to take stock of the situation arisen due to increase in the number of Covid-19 cases at Mangor Hill.


The Chief Minister said those willing to leave Mangor Hill are free to leave from the Containment Zone if they are tested negative and also subject to that  they should not return to Mangor Hill. However, they should make arrangement of their stay at their own cost.

        The Chief Minister also directed the Collector South to identify places wherein to facilitate realignment of the containment zone and also to  provide access for the movement of people.

        The Chief Minister told the Councillors to coordinate with Revenue authorities in case of emergency and to deal with Covid-19 crises. The Chief Minister also instructed the concerned authorities to see that essential commodities such as food grains and other items are provided to the people of Mangor Hill Containment Zone. The Chief Minister directed the District Magistrate South to pay visit along with other concerned authorities and elected representatives to Mangor Hill to review the situation.
