WEEKLY REVIEW OF PRICES AND SUPPLY OF IMPORTANT ESSENTIAL COMMODITIES

The statement of market price, as intimated by the Office of the Registrar of Co-operative Societies of important essential commodities in Panaji, for the week ending June 30, 2020, is as follows.
In wholesale, the prices of gramdal, gram kabuli big decreased by Rs.100/-to Rs. 400/-, Rs.300/-, to Rs.700 /- per quintal respectively and eggs large by Rs.20/- per dozen. Maida and Onion increased by Rs. 50/- to Rs. 200/- per quintal respectively during the week.
The prices of other important essential commodities like parboiled rice outside, raw rice common wheat Khandva, wheat Shivri, jowar Shalu, turdal Barshi, moongdal, moong, sugar S-30, gur fine, sunflower oil, vegetable ghee “Ruchi” rawa, green peas, potatoes, tomatoes and chilies green remained steady during the week.
In retail, the prices of moong, gram kabuli big, decreased by Rs.10/-, Rs.10/- to Rs.20/- per kilo respectively and eggs large by Rs.3/- per dozen during the week.
The price of other important essential commodities like parboiled rice local, parboiled rice outside,wheat khandva, wheat shivri, jowar shalu, turdal Barshi, moongdal, gramdal, sugar S-30, gur fine, sunflower oil, vegetable ghee “Dalda”, rawa maida, green peas, potatoes, onions, tomatoes, chilies green and banana (Vassai) remained steady during the week.
The decrease and increase in wholesale and decrease in retail prices were due to decrease and increase in wholesale prices in supplying markets.
The supply position of important essential commodities were normal during the week, except that of parboiled rice local, coconut oil banana (vessai), and coconut oil, the arrival of which was not noticed during the week.
