WEEKLY REVIEW OF PRICES AND SUPPLY OF IMPORTANT ESSENTIAL COMMODITIES

 The statement of market price, as intimated by the Office of the  Registrar of Co-operatative Societies of important essential commodities in Panaji, for the week ending June 23, 2020 is as follows.

In wholesale, the prices of moogdal, rawa, maida, potatoes, onions  decreased by Rs.500/- to Rs.1000/-, Rs.200/- to Rs.300/-, Rs.100/- to Rs.200/-, Rs.100/- to Rs.300/-, Rs.150/- to Rs.200/- per quintal respectively and eggs large by Rs.20/- per dozen. Wheat shivri, gramdal, gram kabuli big, sugar S-30, green peas, tomatoes, chillies green increased by Rs.100/-, Rs.100/- to Rs.400/-, Rs.300/- to Rs.900/-, Rs.60/-, Rs.500/-, Rs. 1000/- to Rs.1500/-, Rs. 1000/- to Rs.2000/- per quintal respectively and vegetable ghee “Ruchi” by Rs.100/- per tin of 15 liters during the week.

The prices of other important essential commodities like parboiled  rice outside,  wheat khandva, turdal barshi, moong, gur fin and sunflower oil remained steady during the week.

 In retail, the prices of  moongdal decreased by Rs.10/- per kilo and eggs large by Rs.2/- per dozen. Tomatoes and chilles green increased by Rs.10/- to Rs.15/- and Rs. 10/- to Rs.20/- per kilo respectively during the week.

The prices of other important essential commodities like parboiled  rice local, parboiled rice outside, wheat khandva, wheat shivri, jowar shalu, gramdal, moong, gram kabuli big, sugar S-30, gur fine, sunflower oil, vegetable ghee ‘Dalda’, pkt. of 1 liter,  rawa, maida, green peas, potatoes, onions, and banana (Vassai) remained steady during the week.

The increase and decrease in wholesale prices and increase in retail prices were due to increase and decrease in wholesale price in supplying markets. 

The supply position of important essential commodities were normal during the week, except that of parboiled rice local, raw rice commen, jowar shalu, coconut oil and banana (vessai),  the arrival of which was not noticed during the week.
