            Deputy Chief Minister,Shri Manohar Ajgaonkar handed over plot allotment orders to 14 families affected due to the International Mopa Airport project at Pernem today.


          Shri Ajgaonkar expressed his happiness over handing over plot allotment orders to 14 affected families and said that the Government had purchased 36700 square meters of land at market price from Casavarnem Devasthan at Casavarnem village in Pernem and constructed houses, cow shed,community hall, crematorium and provided other amenities to 14 displaced families. He further said as per this plot allotment orders from now onwards its beneficiaries will be the sole owners of their respective plots.


Deputy Chief Minister further said this is the first of its kind rehabilitation project in the State wherein affected parties have been rehabilitated within a short span of time. He further said that the residents of Pernem will be given first preference for providing employment in upcoming projects in Pernem taluka which includes International Mopa Airport, International Cricket Stadium,AYUSH Hospital and Ravindra Bhavan.


Shri Gopal Parsekar, Additional  Collector II, North, Dr. Suresh Shanbhogue, Director, Directorate of Civil Aviation, Shri Ravishekhar Nipankar, Deputy Collector, Collectorate  Pernem, Shri Anant Malik, Mamlatdar were Present on the occasion among others.
