Minister for Art and Culture Shri. Govind Gaude placed a wreath at the Martyrs Memorial at Kranti Maidan in Ponda, and paid rich tributes to the Freedom Fighters and Martyrs on the occasion of Goa Revolution Day today. MLA Ponda Shri. Ravi Naik, Chairman of Ponda Municipal Council (PMC) Shri. Venktesh Naik, Addl. Collector Shri. Arvind Khutkar, Dy. Collector Shri. Kedar Naik, Police Inspector Shri. Mohan Gaude along with Freedom Fighters Shri. Govind Chimulkar, Shri. Janardan Shinkre, PMC Vice Chairman Shri. Apurv Dalvi and Councillors Shri. Ritesh Naik and Shri. Anand Naik were present on the occasion.

In his address the Minister said that 18th June marks special significance for the people of Goa as it was on this day in the year 1946, the suppressed patriotic feelings of Goans had manifested into a mass revolution, eventually leading to Liberation in the year 1961. Let us salute the supreme sacrifices of the brave hearts and Martyrs,” Shri. Gaude said.

Speaking about the COVID-19 pandemic, Shri. Gaude praised the Government machinery for providing best medical facilities to the people in the state and urged the public to help the Government in its various initiatives taken against the pandemic.
