  On the occasion of the 2nd World Food Safety Day today, Health Secretary, Smt. Nila Mohanan IAS presented the Certificates approved by FSSAI to M/s Nestle India Pvt. Ltd. whose campus has been certified as the 'Eat Right Campus’. They are the first corporate organization in the state to achieve this great feat.


Smt. Mohanan also acknowledged the achievement of M/s Navtara Restaurant, who is the first restaurant chain to have 3 of their units rated under the hygiene rating Scheme. It will inspire others, she said, and appealed to other stakeholders to take up such certification schemes. Smt. Jyoti Sardessai, Director, Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) was also present on the occasion. The certificates were presented at Van Bhavan, Althino Panaji.

The program was followed by imparting training on Hygiene Measure in view of the COVID-19 for the food Handlers and canteen manager of Secretariat canteen operator. The Mobile Testing Van was also available wherein spot testing of Food articles was done. 

It may be noted that the proactive approach of the FDA, Goa has helped in gaining FSSAI's recognition and Goa has been declared as the Best Performing State in the smaller State category consecutively for the second year.
