GOA RANKS FIRST IN FOOD SAFETY INDEX

Directorate of Food and Drugs Administration, is declared as the Best Performing State in the Smaller State Category consecutively for the second year. The State achieved a score of 83.5 on a scale of 100 which is the Highest among all the other State/UT categories 

The evaluation was carried out based on the food safety performance index data sheet submitted by the respective states, which was evaluated by the Jury team comprising of the top officials from Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) and experts from the industry. 

The winners were announced during a special function organized by FSSAI through an online platform, on June 7, 2020 to celebrate world Food Safety Day.
