          Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant today attended interactive session via video conferencing with the members of The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) on various measures taken by Government of Goa to fight against COVID-19.  


          Dr Niranjan Hiranandani, National President, ASSOCHAM, Shri Deepak Sood, Secretary General ASSOCHAM and Shri Mangurish Pai Raikar, Chairman, ASSOCHAM Goa State Council were participated in the online session at Chief Ministers official residence at Althino today  .


           Chief Minister explained the various initiatives undertaken  to  make Goa first  COVID-19 free State in the country. The initiatives that were taken are  first of all Government appointed  a  high level committee under his Chairmanship, established war room, constituted monitoring team, established COVID hospitals, established  patho labs separately, this credit goes to  medical team who converted this seven positive cases into negative. Recovered patients and sent them to their home.


          Borders of the State were sealed. Till date no one is allowed to enter the State without the permission of the collector north and south. And if  someone wants to enter into the state they have to first test for the COVID-19  and then only he will allowed to enter the state if he may be a Goan also  Beside this we had also established the control room, what’s app groups, separate nine quarantine centres, Shelter  homes for labour category people also food buses to feed 3lakh labourers, Created Chief Ministers  relief fund, conducted door to door health survey This is how we  are succeeded in making Goa a first  COVID-19  free state he added.


          Chief Minister said Government is trying to resolve the issue of mining in Goa which is in the Supreme Court and hoped to resolve as early as possible


          We will welcome the investors who are willing to come in the state through Investment promotion Board.   


          The Government allowed operating Pharma and Food processing industries during first and second lockdown period Similarly IT and MSME industries will be allowed soon after lockdown is finished.


          The government is putting all its efforts to boost the agriculture sector implementing various schemes in the state.


          We have constituted economic revival committee in the State who will help in the best possible way for the economic purpose in the State. Foreign direct investment (FDI) we are fully prepared to welcome them in the State Chief Minister stated.


          We are the leading hotel industry in the tourism sector and of course we welcome tourists in Goa for which we have to wait till 17 of this month.
