GOVT. APPROVES TRANSPORTATION OF EGGS IN THE STATE

The Government has  approved entry and transportation of eggs in the State of Goa from the provided that a certificate from competent authority of Government Department concerned accompanies the consignment regarding it being free from disease and fit for human consumption.

The Government  has also informed that if in case information  received from Government of India regarding outbreak of Avian Influenza (Bird Flu) or any other diseases in birds and poultry, the  entry and transportation of eggs and poultry from such areas would be prohibited.

The Government  through  the  Directorate of Animal Husbandry had  issued earlier  notification about the prohibition of import and entry of Poultry (live or dressed) all Poultry products and also eggs in Goa directly or indirectly from the State of Karnataka & Kerala due to outbreak of Avian Influenza (Bird Flu) in these States
