          The Directorate of Higher Education is organizing “Kalpak”, a three day exhibition of innovative projects in Science, Engineering, Arts and Social Sciences, from February 26 to February 28, 2020. The event will be held at Adil Shah palace (Old Secretariat), Panaji and will be open for public from 10.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. on all three days.

          Kalpak will showcase research projects by college students, in the form of working models and posters, as well as carry interactive exhibits. In addition to innovative solutions by Goan innovators, public talks by eminent experts are also planned.

          The prime goal of organizing Kalpak is to provide a unique platform for students to showcase their talents and interact with fellow innovators, eventually building future research collaborations. Kalpak aims to bring academicians, innovators, and public on a single platform.

          In additions to project exhibits, public talks are also planned. On February 26, Porf. V. Saxena, Ex Vice Chancellor of Jiwaji University, Gwallior, will deliver a talk entitled “Mathematics in theWorld of Biological Sciences”. On February 27 Dr. Debasis Patnaik from BITS-Goa will address the audience on “Education and Socio-Economic Reforms in Goa”, while on Friday, February 28, Dr. Vithal Tilvi from the Directorate of Higher Education, will take the audience on space tour, “Wonders of the Universe”.

          This exhibition is one of the several initiatives taken by the Directorate of Higher Education, in order to promote research and education in the state of Goa.
