CHHATRAPATI SHIVAJI MAHARAJ JAYANTI SAMAROH AT FARMAGUDI ON FEBRUARY 19

          Rich Tributes will be paid to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the legendary Maratha Warrior on the occasion his Birth Anniversary to be celebrated in the State on February 19. 2020.

          The main State Level function will be held at Farmagudi, Ponda where Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant will lead the people of the State in offering tributes to Shivaji Maharaj, the Great Maratha King.

          The Department of Information and Publicity will organize the function in association with Village Panchayat, Bandora and Zilla Panchayat Member, Kavlem.

          The function will also be attended by Minister for Art and Culture, Shri Govind Gaude, Shri Ramkrishna (Sudin) Dhavalikar, MLA, Shri Ravi S. Naik, MLA, Shri Subhash Shirodkar, MLA, Smt Chitra Phadte, Zilla Panchayat, Member, Shri Ramchandra Naik, Sarpanch Bandora and Shri Sanjay Kumar, IAS, Secretary, Information  and Publicity.

          Dr. Padmakar Gore, History Scholar from Pune will deliver a key note address on the life and work of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

          The function will begin at 8.45 a.m. by garlanding the Statue of Shivaji Maharaj by Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant, Minister for Art and Culture, Shri Govind Gaude, Shri Ramkrishna Dhavalikar, Shri Ravi Naik, Shri Subhash Shirodkar all MLAS, Smt Chitra Phadte, ZP Member, Shri Ramchandra Naik, Sarpanch Bandora, Shri Sanjay Kumar, Secretary, Information and Publicity besides other dignitaries who will also offer floral tributes at the foot of statue of Shivaji Maharaj.

          After garlanding the statue by the dignitaries children of Bal Bhavan will present Pawada at fort premise and Dhol Tasha Pathak by women from Shiroda at the entrance of Fort at Farmagudi.

         

 

Various programmes have also been planned to mark the celebration of this annual event across the state. These includes All Goa Natya Pravesh (Theatrical Entry) Competition for High School and Higher Secondary Students on Shivaji Maharaj with traditional attire and All Goa Intercollegiate Quiz Competition on Life and Times of Shivaji Maharaj. The winners of Natya Pravesh  Contest will be awarded a Cash Prize of Rs. 10,000/- Rs. 7,000/- and Rs. 5,000/- as first, second and third prize respectively. The winners of  “Intercollegiate Quiz” Competition will be given a Cash Prize Rs. 3,000/- Rs. 2,000/- and Rs. 1,000/- besides certificates.

          To mark the celebration Historical drama on Shivaji Maharaj will also be staged at eight different locations in the State from February 18 to February 21, 2020. These includes drama “Garud Zhep” by Vimalanand Kala Manch, Marcai at Ravindra Bhavan, Curchorem on February 18, 2020 at 7.00 p.m. At Shree Ganapati Precincts, Farmagudi on February 19, 2020 at 7.00 p.m. at Ravindra Bhavan Sankhali on February 20, 2020 at 7.00 p.m. at Shree Mallikeshwar Devasthan Kule, Dharbandora on February 21, 2020 at 7.00 p.m.

          Similarly, Drama “Raigadala Jevha Jag Yete” by Swarsadhana Kala Sanskritik Saunstha, Marcaim will be staged at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao on February 19, 2020 at 7.00 p.m. and at Don Mad, Keri, Sattari on February 20, 2020 at 8.30 p.m. The said drama will be staged by Omkar theatre, Pernem at Ravindra Bhavan, Vasco on February 21, 2020 at 7.00 p.m. and at Bhomwada, Palye, Pernem on February 19, 2020 at 8.30 p.m.
