FOUNDATION STONE LAID FOR HINTERLAND TOURISM

Tourism Minister Shri Manohar Ajgaonkar laid foundation stone for the development of Hinterland Tourism providing Entrance Arch, illumination and Signages at Pernem yesterday.

Speaking on the occasion Shri Ajgaonkar informed that Road from Municipal Garden to Viscount School Pernem is very narrow and also does not have proper illumination, footpath. The project will include Road widening, pedestrian track, proper lighting which is needed for the locals as well as tourist for safety he added.

Shri Ajgaonkar further said if we want Pernem Taluka to be developed, and therefore Cooperation and support from the people is a must .Shri Ajgaonkar also informed that Various Development works are soon to be carried out in different parts of Pernem taluka like beautification work in Varkhand, International stadium, Mopa airport, hot mixing of roads in Dhargal.

Present on the occasion were Ms Shradha Mashelkar, Chairperson, Pernem Municipal Council,Shri Prashant Gadekar, Vice Chairperson, Dr.Vasudev Deshprabhu, Former Chairperson, Shri Bharat Gawade ,Sarpanch Virnoda, Ms.Aparna Parab, Deputy Sarpanch, Virnoda, Shri Pashuram Kakodkar,Former MLA ,Pramod Badami,Senior Engineer, Shri Pandurang Parab,Former President,Zilla Panchayat and councillors.
